Mr Boshnaq is a highly skilled surgeon with a focus on minimally invasive surgery for gastrointestinal diseases. He obtained his MD degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, one of the top universities in Egypt and the Middle East. His excellent grades earned him an intense residency program at the university, where he developed his surgical skills and knowledge. Following his residency, Mr Boshnaq was appointed as a lecturer in General Surgery at Ain Shams University, a position that allowed him to share his expertise with the next generation of surgeons.
In 2012, he made the decision to move to the UK to further his career in general and laparoscopic surgery. Through a national competitive selection process, he was offered a place to complete his higher surgical training in the south east of England. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2021. He was successful in attaining a post CCT fellowship at the prestigious Royal London hospital, where he expanded his knowledge and skills in advanced colorectal surgery for bowel cancer and inflammatory bowel disease.
Mr Boshnaq is a substantive consultant in East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust, and he is an honorary colorectal consultant at Royal London hospital. He offers private services at Spencer Private hospitals at Margate, Canterbury and Ashford. He is involved in the education of medical students being a faculty member of Kent and Medway Medical School (KMMS), and he is a member of the Association of Coloproctology of
Great Britain & Ireland (ACPGBI).
